Arsenii Karmatckii is the latest player to become a partypoker LIVE champion after he triumphed in the German Poker Championship Main Event at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov.

Karmatckii, a 26-year-old chemist from Russia, qualified for the €1 million guaranteed tournament via a Phase 1 and turned that entry into a €185,000 prize; he will now be heading to Sochi for the partypoker MILLIONS Russia festival.
Several big names made it into the money place during the week, with the likes of Vojtech Ruzucka (98th for €2,000), Simon Trumper (76th for €2,500), partypoker sponsored pro Natalia Breviglieri (61st for €3,500), Matthias De Meulder (57th for €3,500), partypoker pro Anatoly Filatov (29th for €5,000), and German superstar Philipp Gruissem (25th for €6,000) all banking some profit in the event.
By the time the final day’s play came around, only 14 players remained in contention for the title. Those 14 players returned to their seats on August 14 and three hours after the restart, the United Kingdom’s Jonathan Wong bust in 10th place to leave only one table being used.
Sonay Kehya was then eliminated in ninth-place when his ace-six ran into the black aces of Aleksandar Tomovic and the official final table was set.
First to fall from the official eight-handed final table was Sina Alamzad who pushed his five big blind stack into the middle with and was looked up by Ngoc Ming Hoang who held . A final board reading sent Alamzad to the showers.
Tomovic was the next casualty of the final table, opening to 3,900,000 with at the 800,000/1,600,000/160,000a level and being called by Karmatckii in the big blind with . Karmatckii then check-called a 6,000,000 bet on the flop and then check-called a shove on the turn. The fell on the river, Tomovic’s aces were cracked and the final table lost another player.
Dominik Desset then claimed the tournament life of Philipp Zukernik and the tournament chip lead when his stayed ahead of the before Hoang bust when his lost to the dominating of Albert Skobelev despite going ahead on the flop of the board.
Four-handed play ended with the exit of Grzegorz Idziak who saw his lose to the of Karmatckii courtesy of the board gifting Karmatckii a straight.
Heads-up was set after a long three-handed battle that saw Desset fall in third-place. With the blinds now 2,500,000/5,000,000/500,000a, Karmatckii opened to 10,000,000 on the button and Desset called in the small blind. Desset checked on the fop, Karmatckii bet 11,000,000 and Desset check-raised to 29,000,000. Karmatckii moved all-in for 100,500,000 and was called.
It was the for Desset and the the [ for Karmatckii. The on the turn locked up the hand for Karmatckii and rendered the on the river inconsequential.
After making a deal heads-up, the one-on-one battle between Karmatckii and Skobelev lasted only one hand. Skobelev limped into the small blind with and called a raise to 15,000,000 from Karmatckii holding . Karmatckii bet 17,000,000 on the flop, Skobelev moved all-in for 95,000,000 and Karmatckii called after some thought. An ace on the turn and another on the river improved Karmtackii to a full house, bust Skobelev in second place and left Karmatckii to revel in the glory of being a partypoker LIVE champion.
